We will be offering a twice a week morning class for the summer. This class is for Jr’s Green belt to Black Belt. The class will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am-10am. Beat the heat and get your class done so you can enjoy the pool in the late afternoon.
Starts: Monday July 10th
Ends: Wednesday August 9th.
All afternoon classes will REMAIN the same.
It’s been a while since we have offered one, we will be hosting an Evolution Martial Arts Clinic on Sunday March 19th from 11:30-12:30pm. If your child needs a bit more help in Hapkido working toward their tips or getting ready for an upcoming exam this clinic is perfect for them. Maybe your child just wants to improve some of the little details. The cost of this one-hour clinic is $25, the minimum amount of sign ups must be 5 to make the clinic happen.
Think of it as a group private lesson, you pick what YOU need to work and improve on. Instructors will go around helping you and giving feedback on what you could improve on. There will always be a good ratio of instructors so you are guaranteed quality attention.
There is no stretching, or games, the hour is strictly working on curriculum and your skills. This clinic does not guarantee you a tip or a successful passing of your exam. This clinic is an additional supplement to regular class attendance and practice at home.

Our Tiny Tigers program is starting to explode with almost as many students as Juniors. With that in mind we had to add more mat space with our current remodel which is almost done. Along with that we had to add a few more Tiny Tiger class options. Adding a few more classes and separating out belts based on ability will help give us the chance to challenge Tiny Tigers at their level. We know this schedule may or may not work for everyone but we have other classes available for you as well.

All Black Belt Club Members and Black Belt Candidate please join us for a special event on Sunday October 2nd. This is a two part seminar taught by one of the best female instructors who taught most of us at one point or another as we came up the ranks. Ms. Erin is a 4th degree black belt who lives up in Northern California. After some convincing from Ms. Bailey and Mr. AJ we very fortunate to have her agree to come to Evolution to do this special event for you. Each one of us here at Evolution can look back and easily say Ms. Erin has helped and improved something in our martial arts career. Join us for this event as she will give you tips to improving your skills.
The first seminar will be for all Black Belt Club Members and Black Belt Candidates. The second seminar is geared toward females only. This seminar is to help empower girls and build confidence in skills like grappling and sparring.
This special event will be held on Sunday October 2nd
Black Belt Club Lunch – 12pm – We will serve some pizza before the event begins.
Seminar 1 – 12:30-1:30pm – All Black Belt Club Members and Black Belt Candidates. (Boys & Girls)
Seminar 2 – 1:30-2:30pm – Black Belt Club & Black Belt Candidate (Girls ONLY).

This year we will be selecting between 8-10 students to join the Top Team. The students will be split into 2 teams. Each team will perform at alternating belt graduations. This will give students 2 months off to rest before they start meeting for practices and finally perform at a graduation. If some students would like to perform at all demonstrations they are more than welcome to as well. Once the teams are formed, performance dates will be given.
Requirements:
The ONLY requirement needed to audition is the rank of at least Hapkido Jr. Green Belt. All students who fulfill this requirement are more than welcome to try out but NOT every student will make it. Only 8-10 spots are available on this roster as of right now. Five of the most important factors we are looking for are

Parents keep in mind there is a possibly only one sibling could make it while the other(s) do not. Students who make the team may be cut from the team at any time. Auditions will be held again in the future as we increase the number of spots on the team or have to fill available spots.

Not so much of a change more like an addition. Starting the week of June 20th we will be offering morning classes for Hapkido Junior Advanced students (Green Belts and higher). These classes will be offered on Mondays & Wednesdays from 9am-10am. This will allow some of those to take the class in the morning while freeing up time in the afternoon for summer activities.
Unlike last year the Monday and Wednesday Advanced class at 4pm will still be ON. So our normal afternoon/evening schedule will remain the same. This special schedule will run from June 20th to August 10th.
Black Belt Club members we wanted to give you a special chance to come take a class taught by our teacher Sensei Fariborz on Saturday April 23 from 1-2pm. In this class you will meet Sensei Fariborz who taught all of your instructors here at Evolution. He will give a brief background of himself and how he got started martial arts. Then he will teach you all something new or different. If you plan on attending please bring all your equipment and weapons.
The class is scheduled to go from 1pm-2pm (but may go over). Please come a bit earlier at 12:30 for a light lunch before the class. There will be a sign up at the front desk if you plan on attending. This will give us a better idea of how much lunch we will need to bring. We hope all the Black Belt Club members can make it. This is a great opportunity to learn from someone who taught all of us for 15+ years.

Every year on the day before Halloween we allow students to wear their costumes to class. We typically cancel classes on Halloween day if lands on a weeknight, since this year it falls on a Saturday we will be open in the morning and allow any students who can’t make it to Fridays class to wear their costume Saturday.
Children can bring any masks or accessories for their costume for our group photo but will have to leave those items off to the side during class. Wearing a costume is not mandatory. We look forward to seeing you all in your costumes.
